Travel day – Le Puy

Today I woke up to a hectic morning. Today was the day that we head to Le Puy en Velay in preparation for the extended Camino de Santiago. After we were all packed and ready we headed to the metro which was hard because our bags were massive and trying to fit them through a small metro was a nightmare for our backs. After a short trip on the metro we arrived at the train station called Gare de Lyon that we would be leaving from but since we wouldn’t be leaving in a while we made a pile with our bags near the kids area and managed to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Gare de Lyon. Once we knew what platform our train was on we gathered our stuff and trudged over to get into our seats before all the other passengers arrived.

After 2 hours of travelling with a bored Tom (Spoiler alert: Not fun) we grabbed our stuff and loaded into a smaller train bound for Le Puy en Velay (or so we thought). Half way though the trip the train stopped at Saint Etienne train station and there we were told that we would have to take a bus the rest of the route.

Once on the bus we started moving at a moderate speed towards Le Puy and we were slightly surprised to find that the bus had charging ports (but no WiFi sadly). Once we arrived in Le Puy we jumped in a taxi and headed to were we would be staying for the next four days before the Camino de Santiago.

After we set up our Rhino-wolf tents we quickly went to the supermache for supplies and on the way Tom found a playground that he instantly fell in love with. After a baguette sandwich dinner we relaxed for the rest of the night.
