Day 16 Rarotonga

Today started with me waking up to mum asking if I had any cash.

If you remember from yesterday you will already know that the eftpos machine wasn’t working at KAPS so we had to clean out the cupboards looking for food so it didn’t really surprise me that today was one of those days that we didn’t have anything in the cupboards. After we had collected enough cash for some milk (we already had cereal) Nate ran to KAPS. After some breakfast we headed to Muri where we were going to so we could go on “Captain Koka’s lagoon cruise” (Bit confused how we could afford a cruise but we struggled to buy breakfast) anyway after finding the place we went across the road to a place called “LBV deli” where I ordered a chai latte and some pastry (didn’t know what it was called). After some delicious food we headed across the road to grab our tickets for lagoon cruise and then we had to wait because a bus was running late but Nate and I didn’t mind because we were too interested in the cool snorkels we had been given. After the bus arrived we filed onto the boat and we were at the front which was awesome because the entertainment was at the front (those dudes really know their jokes). When we arrived at the snorkelling place we were showed some metal stands where we could stand on so we didn’t damage the coral then they showed us where the fish were and there were massive blue-fin trevally and also there was a moray eel called roger and he was about as thick as my arm which made for amazing GoPro footage. After some tremendous snorkelling we got back on the boat and headed to a place called “No touching island” (Apparently it had something to do with couples whatever that means). When we arrived there we told to have a look around because the food was still being cooked so Nate and I wandered off to try and find something to entertain us while we waited. After my third plate of food (the selection was running out but I swear I could have eaten four more plates worth) Nate and I went back to some coconuts we had found and after a while we were all called over to a coconut tree because one of the crew members was going to show us how to climb it. Before he showed us he held out a worn out rope and told us he was going to safely climb the tree (Bit ironic how the rope didn’t look the tiniest bit safe) and man did he climb it, he was at the top in under five seconds which must have required so much skill. After the coconut tree stunt we were led back to the eating area where they entertained us for the rest of the trip (I don’t want to spoil it to much if anyone’s doing it so I won’t say what happened). After we got back we decided to take a quick stroll to Ariki shack and then we headed home.
