Today we woke up super early so we could see the great Vaka Marumaru Atua (A bit like a Waka) come into port since before it was destroyed by fire.
After a bit of miss navigation (Stupid directions) we managed to locate the Vaka but since we were late we didn’t get to see the great boat dock into Avatiu harbour. After watching a traditional dance while having my view blocked by school kids twice at the best bits we decided to go to a waffle shop that sold waffles that weren’t delicious but weren’t horrible but I’m not really a waffle fan so if some of you guys like waffles I would encourage you to try them if you are ever in Rarotonga (Btw it’s called “The waffle shack”). After lunch we headed down to the playground were Tom started playing a game he called “Fire brigade” were he ran around making a whole lot of fire engine noises. After what seemed like hours of seeing Tom run around the playground we headed for home where Nate & Tom & the neighbours plus me played an overly intense game of soccer for the age of most of the contestants playing where Nate tried his absolute best to pummel the neighbours (Eden 4 & Tiana 6) and I, but with me in defence taking most of the brunt while Eden and Tiana were scoring the goals. After Nate was getting tired of getting nowhere with his brutal onslaught we decided to ride down to the beach were a very friendly dog decided to plonk itself down next to where I was relaxing while Tom was chasing and then running away from a small hermit crab he found on the beach ( Hermit crabs are crabs that use abandoned shells to hide in and each time they can’t fit any more they go in search of a bigger shell) while the rest went snorkelling. After grabbing all our stuff we headed home and I was so tired from all the biking that I crashed straight in bed.
